First Baptist Church Gulfport has long been a leader in discipleship and missions on the coast, in Mississippi and the Southern Baptist Convention. The 2008 relocation to Highway 605 and Phase One of the new facilities have effectively positioned FBC for 21st Century ministry to the entire South Mississippi coastal region and beyond. FBC has members, regular attenders and frequent guests who live in Harrison, Hancock, Stone and Jackson counties. Our mission is to Amplify Hope Across the Coast by Connecting People to Life in Jesus. Lester Denley, who served as a high school principal in three different coast schools, said recently, “You can drive 10 miles in any direction and encounter a totally different culture but the one thing everybody needs is Jesus!” At FBC we work at Connecting People to Jesus by Celebrating Hope in Worship, Cultivating Growth in Groups and Caring People Thru Service. We partner with families by targeting ministry to age groups and deploy the congregation on mission all across the coast. Every member of FBC can contribute to the mission. Every Christian can grow and lead others to grow in their relationship with Jesus. Every Christian - Every Member; On Mission - Amplifying Hope Across the Coast!
